Intercape is looking to employ a Porter for the Bellville Station

Duties & Responsibilities

Customer Service Maintained

  • Action taken to minimise service disruptions
  • Customer enquiries are dealt with courteously
  • Knowledge of service is used to respond to customer needs
  • Customer enquiries are reported

Company Image

  • Respond to customer needs without delay
  • Customer services on platform
  • Customer service at frontline office
  • Knowledge of routes / destinations
  • Vehicle barriers maintained

Security Services

  • Ensure the safeguarding in the office
  • Ensure the safeguarding of the immediate area outside the office
  • Ensure the safety of the office personnel
  • Ensure the safety of the passengers outside the office
  • Ensure the safety of the passengers while boarding the coach
  • Ensure the safeguarding of passenger luggage
  • Ensure coach loading bay is accessible to the coaches in front of office

Warehouse Duties

  • Accurate placement of stickers- numerically correct
  • Accurate packaging of goods-Correct Destination identified per cage
  • Correct stickers placed on Goods
  • No luggage to be found in the cage without stickers

Queuing

  • One passenger at a time
  • Correct Luggage on the trolley
  • Passengers are brought in according to how the Warehouse Clerk calls them in
  • Correct person brought in with the correct luggage
  • No Illegal items

Boarding Gate

  • Correct sticker is placed on the correct passenger’s bag
  • Stickers to be attached properly so as to be able to be scanned into the trailer
  • No mixing of destinations-Correct luggage on one trolley
  • No luggage to be loaded into side boots if not authorized by Management

Trailers

  • Luggage to be loaded according to the destinations into the correct trailer
  • Luggage to be handled with care
  • Ensure all Items/Luggage is scanned before being loaded into the trailer or side boot

Effective Utilization of All Systems

  • Log all related information on company system as required by policy.
  • • Responsible to ensure that you have received training on all relevant systems for department

Desired Experience & Qualification

REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIC TO THE JOB:

Qualifications:

  • Grade 10
  • written comprehension and literacy

Experience:

  • 2 Years’ experience in security related position will be advantageous

Knowledge / Abilities:

  • Have a proficient knowledge of the company, its divisions, associates, people products, service and website.
  • Enjoy working independently as well as be part of a team.
  • Assist as required in the operational department.
  • Be focused on providing work of an extremely high quality.
  • Be prepared to work shifts.
