Job description

A till controller will be responsible for ensuring that all goods are rung up accurately by the cashiers they supervise and control the flow of customers through the till points efficiently.
This position reports directly to the Process Manager and will be required to work different shifts across trading and non-trading hours, including Sundays and Public Holidays.

What you’ll do
This is a list of tasks that you will be responsible for doing on your days at work.
- Ensure that all money is accounted for. The need to balance tills on a daily basis.
- Ensure the checkouts are manned efficiently
- Ensure all goods are rung up correctly
- Accurately and securely process and record voids & refunds
- Creating rosters for cashiers
- Plan and manage lunch and tea breaks for cashiers
- Oversee cash handling at the checkouts
- Ensure that cashiers adhere to operating procedures
- Assist customers with queries
- Maintain clean and hygienic checkouts
- Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements
- Efficiently managing tasks, schedules, and resources to optimize checkout operations and create an orderly work environment
- Demonstrating proficiency in working with numbers, calculating totals, providing accurate change, and reconciling cash balances
- Familiarity with using point-of-sale systems and equipment to process transactions, apply discounts, and manage various payment methods.
- Possessing a good understanding of different fruits and vegetables, their varieties, seasonal availability, and handling considerations to assist customers accurately.
- Approaching tasks and interactions with a positive attitude
- Going above and beyond to provide excellent service to customers
Requirements

- Matric
- Experience: Cashier, Controller
- Within 10km from job
- Clear criminal record
Preferences
Meeting the preferences would be a plus, but if you don’t, it won’t stop companies from considering you.
- South African candidates
- Experience: Minimum 1 years’ experience as a Till Supervisor
- Candidates between 18 and 65
