An opportunity has become available for a Mechanical Assistant: Semi-Skilled to responsible for assisting the Artisan which may be as part of a
learnership programme to maintain and modify, install and repair plant and machinery where necessary. May inspect plant or production area and report faults to the Artisan to assist in scheduling maintenance or repairs as required to minimise loss of production..
Minimum Requirements
• Matric Certificate • Self motivated and assertive • Minimum 2 years relevant experience • Willing to work 12 hr shifts, nightshifts, weekends and public holidays • Successfully complete medical evaluation • Sound knowledge and experience of technical aspects of heavy commercial vehicles, including trailers • Maintain good relationships with customers • Valid driver’s license and own transport
Duties & Responsibilities
• Conduct services on diesel/electric units • Conduct fault finding and repairs on diesel/electric units • Daily routine checks on diesel/electric units • Attend to breakdowns • Ensure the completion of work as to minimize disruption in operations • Able to work independently without supervision
