We’re looking for…
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Caretaker/Handyman who will be responsible for the overall maintenance of the client’s property.
What’s the role?
You will be responsible for:
- Check tenants moving in/out of the unit(s)
- Handing over and receiving keys
- Checking unit for damages and repairing or arranging repairs
- Co-ordinating repairs of the unit prior to new tenants moving in
- Supervising cleaning of the unit prior to new tenants moving in
- Issue Access control tags to new/ Existing tenants
- Unlocking Door for locked out tenants
- Supervise and Manage Gardener/ Cleaners
- Ensure General Assistant cleans common walkways, play areas, common areas
- Ensure Garden Equipment and tools are in working order
- Ensure cleaning materials on site
- Supervise any outsourced garden and cleaning companies
- Generally, ensure the Apartments and common areas are well kept and maintained
- Install and procure any equipment such as Towel rails, curtain rails, toilet roll holders etc
- Answer first call from Alarm company in case of alarm activation, liaise with guard and cancel or take appropriate action to notify armed response (if required).
- Allow/ Decline access to subcontractors when guard calls
- Repair or outsource Electric Fence and CCTV repair
- Any other items/ repairs that may arise
- Assist with the Client’s Directors Personal House repairs or maintenance
Candidate Requirements
Who are you?
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure
- Attention to detail
Boxes to tick…
- Matric
- 3+ Years Experience in the relevant industry
- Electrical repairs and maintenance experience
- Must have a valid Driver’s license and own car – be willing to drive around when needed to
